and you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it’s sinking…

On a crisp sunny day, while it was still quite cold,  and the sky almost clear, the sun started to set. But as we saw the first shades of colors on the horizon, we could anticipate that this would only get better. We were out on a stroll and did not have our camera with us. And then we saw this. And so we ran to a small bridge and captured a slice of the huge sky in front of us. The reflection of the skies and the pinkish clouds in the water makes this one of my favorite shots.

In hindsight, I wish I had the presence of mind to click in all directions – that way i could have tried to stitch the pics together. However, this suffices for us; the colors strike a happy chord in us always. And that’s what matters, at the end of the day, when the sun sets.

Sunsets and skies – Germany – Pt. 1 of (hopefully) many

A few of our best memories have been those of sunsets – colorful, fiery, changing shades and being “perfect” for those few wonderful minutes. Often, we have found ourselves running into a field, or to the top of a small bridge to see as much as we can.

skies on fire!

There has sometimes been no time to take out the (proper) camera, and set it up and click a pic. The camera phone has had to suffice in a lot of cases. And while it does not do justice to the real sight, the memory of the colors is certainly helped by having a pic.

ramping upwards to heaven!

While tourist spots and experiences abound, a lot of time is well spent sitting and observing the sunsets and the skies.
